In episode 3 of this Idaho archery elk hunt, Randy Newberg and Kurt Howard from Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls have a couple days left to try and fill their elk tags. They start each day with a little luck, the elk are responding to calls from camp!



Randy and Kurt head out in the morning to where the heard a bull respond. As they get closer the bull isn't responding anymore, but they are able to glass up a herd on the edge of a timber patch. With them is a mature bull, covered in mud.



Even from 600 yards away, they get spooked and take off over the ridge. The guys continue hunting hard and are able to get on elk again. And the last morning they wake up to something neither of them expected.
