After coming off a successful backcountry elk hunt, Marcus continues his archery season by hunting another state where he was able to pick up a leftover elk tag. It's a new area he has never been, so he plans to just cover different drainages and try to find elk.
The elk sign is minimal, so Marcus continues to cover ground. He heads to some high elevation allowing him to view a large sect of the landscape. Despite only finding old sign Marcus keeps a positive attitude and enjoys the hunt.
The next day he is able to turn up some elk. But this area of the unit poses difficulties with a variety of private land borders so navigate. Marcus keeps trying to exhaust all his options to try and arrow an elk on his leftover tag.
