Understanding Orthotics | Foot Care For Hunters (Part 2)
43m
In part 3 of this foot care for hunters series, Randy Newberg joins Dr. Bill Wilshire to continue their conversation about feet when it comes to hunting. They talk about how foot structure can change over time, especially when you are straining them with weight or steep terrain.
They also touch on blisters. Bill once got sick and had to ride out on a horse because he let a blister get so bad. Your foot structure can make you more prone to blisters in certain areas. When you do get a blister in the backcountry it's important to treat it properly.
Bill always carries duct tape in his pack for this very reason. He uses it to treat and prevent future blisters. Beyond that he recommends using a pad if needed as well to create some cushion. With a few tips in your pocket, you can be be prepared for if you or a hunting buddy ever need to treat blisters in the backcountry.
