In episode 1 of Idaho Archery Elk, Randy Newberg is joined by Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls manager, Kurt Howard. Plans changed quickly as a winter storm warming was put in effect in the area they are planning to hunt.
They decide to sleep in their trucks and wait out the storm before hiking into camp. The next morning, the weather has lightened up, so they get the llamas ready and start the 5 mile trek into their planned camping spot.
After getting camp set up and the llamas staked out, they choose to do an evening hunt to get a lay of the land and see if any bulls will respond to calls. It doesn't take long before they get a response. Randy summons Kurt as the first shooter, so they get set up and hope to call the bull within range. Well he shows up in an unexpected shot, and they have a bugling match hoping to draw him out of the timber.
